Alice Horáčková was born in 1980 in Prague. She studied journalism and media studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. After 2000, she worked in the cultural editorial department of the daily MF Dnes.
Since 2014, she has published five books: Vladimíra Čerepková (2014), 7 × ve vedlejší úloze (7 × in a Supporting Role, 2016), Neotevřené dopisy (The Unopened Letters, 2018), Rozpůlený dům (The Halved House, 2022) and Václav a Kamila Bendovi. Příběh lásky a odvahy (Václav and Kamila Bendovi. The Story of Love and Courage, 2025). The publisher wrote about the latest one: “On their first date, Václav put Kamila through a knowledge test, which she managed to pass with flying colours. And she also managed everything else that a marriage to the poet, literary critic, philosopher, mathematician, chartist, boilerman, prisoner and politician Benda entailed…”
