Emma Kausc: Nothing special
 – Czechia

Poetess, novelist, publicist born in Prague. She studied contemporary culture, literature and critical theory at King’s College London. Author of the poetry collection Cykly (Cycles, 2017) and the novel Narušení děje (The Interruption of the Plot, 2024).

Regarding the key motif of her prose, “disappearance”, she reflects in an interview with Michaela Dermauw: “I think it is an experience that is inherent to everyone and everything. Whether a person disappears from our lives, relationships as we knew them, or perhaps dreams in forms that we have long nurtured and hoped for, it is nothing special. However, faith, doubt or fear can also disappear.”
