Jana Micenková: Nobody solves anything

Jana Micenková was born in 1980 in Košice; she is a playwright, screenwriter, director, novelist. She studied Slovakian language and literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov and screenwriting and dramaturgy at FAMU in Prague. In 2013, she founded the independent theatre company Nekroteatro.

She is the author of three books, and her novel Krev je jenom voda (Blood Is Just Water, 2024) was translated into Czech. The publisher says about the novel: “This is a psychological novel. An analysis of the collapse of a dysfunctional family, an attempt to decode the origin and essence of a violent act. Months go by. Nobody solves anything. Everybody has enough to do about themselves. Only, breathing is somehow harder and harder for them all…”
