Jaroslava Oválská: Authors’ sly game

Poetess. According to a legend, she was born in 1989 in Hořovice. A translator, worker in non-profit organizations, long-term resident in Mexico and the United States of America. In reality, she is a project created by poet and editor Milan Ohnisko (1965) and poetess and editor Olga Stehlíková (1977). Oválská is signed under the collections To je mezipanelární jizva, lásko (That’s an Intrapanelar Scar, My Love, 2024) and Za lyrický subjekt (For the Lyrical Subject, 2018). According to the authors, “… despite her intangible nature, she is very earthy and spontaneous. Her playful verses collapse into themselves thanks to the author’s sly game. In the absurd punchlines and naive rhymes, the supreme awkwardness bubbles through”.
